We’ve already created new Revu 2017 product keys to keep things simple.
Log in to the Bluebeam Gateway, where you’ll find your new Revu 2017 product key.
All your Open Licence seats will remain under the same serial number. You can continue to use your existing version of Revu or update to Revu 2017. Now you’re ready to create, edit and collaborate on PDFs like never before with Revu 2017.

How to Install the Upgrade
A Note About Upgrades:
Going from one “full” version number to another is a paid major upgrade, unless you have a current maintenance subscription when the new software is released. So for example, going from Revu 2016.5 to Revu 2017 is not a free upgrade, but on the other hand, upgrading from version 2016.1 to version 2016.5 is free of charge.
1. Check the Bluebeam Revu Compatibility Chart
Go to the Bluebeam Revu Compatibility Chart and confirm your new version of Bluebeam Revu is compatible with the operating system and associated software on your machine.
2. Get the Correct Serial Number and Product Key
Make sure you have the correct serial number and product key for the new software – it’s very important that this information matches the edition and version number you want to register.
If you’re doing a major upgrade, such as going from Revu 2016 Standard to Revu 2017 Standard, you’ll need a new serial number and product key for the new version.
Note: The serial number and product key for your older Revu software will not work with the newer version. Also, simply unregistering your current Revu software and re-registering it with the new serial number and product key will not upgrade the software or unlock new features.
This also applies to editions. Let’s say you’re upgrading from Revu 2017 Standard to Revu 2017 eXtreme. Once again, you’ll need to have a new serial number and product key for Revu 2017 eXtreme.
Self Upgrade Option for Customers with Maintenance
Customers who have maintenance can issue themselves a new serial number and product key by going to our Self Upgrade page and entering the registration information for their current software, and then clicking the Search button.
3. After Upgrading the Licence, Download the Bluebeam Revu Installer
Now it’s time to download and install the new version of Bluebeam Revu.
Note: You have to download and install the newer version of the software in order to successfully upgrade. Unregistering your current Revu software and re-registering it with the new serial number and product key will not upgrade the software or unlock new features.
Scenario 1: “I Have an Email Containing the New Serial Number and Product Key”
If you’ve received an email containing the registration information for the new version of Bluebeam Revu, you’ll also notice that it contains a download link that takes you to our Downloads and Updates page.
Once you get there, select the edition of Bluebeam Revu that’s listed in the email and the version number that’s in the email. If you’re offered the option to Save or Run the file after making your selections, save it to your hard drive.
Scenario 2: “I Don’t Have an Email Containing the New Serial Number and Product Key”
If you don’t have an email with the new serial number and product key, please contact us to request another copy.
You can still download the software from our Downloads and Updates page, but you must make sure you download the exact edition and version number that’s listed in the licencing email you’ll receive.
4. Install Bluebeam Revu
Once the download has finished, please close all of your open programmes and then double-click on the installer. Click here for detailed instructions for installing Revu 2017 onto your computer.
Note: Please refer to the Enterprise Installation page if you’re deploying Revu 2017 to multiple computers.
“When Do I Enter My Serial Number and Product Key?”
During the latter part of the installation process, a registration window will appear where you can enter your serial number and product key. If you need to get this information from an email, it’s ok to open your email programme at this time so you can copy and paste the information into the corresponding boxes.
After you’ve clicked the Register button, the software will contact the registration server to complete the activation process. The installer will continue running and eventually you’ll be able to click the Finish button to complete the installation process.
Note: If you receive an error message when registering your software, please make sure you’ve entered the correct serial number and product key, as discussed earlier in this article. If the message doesn’t go away, please check our Registration Errors page to see what it means and how to resolve it.
